at South Britain Congregational Church
At South Britain Church, we invite you to experience Easter's power and hope as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Join us for a meaningful and inspiring Holy Week filled with worship, reflection, and fellowship.
Sing Hosanna!
We begin the Holy Week observations recalling Jesus’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem. We’ve got Palms, special music, and an inspiring message about the importance of community.
This quiet service of contemplation tells the story of Jesus’ last evening with his disciples. We will celebrate Holy Communion and observe the ancient Office of Tenebrae (extinguishing of lights).
Bring your own chair and join us in the Memorial Garden adjacent to the parking lot for a simple outdoor service of scripture and song that welcomes the Good News of Christ’s Resurrection.
After the service, we’ll have breakfast ready in the Parish House.
Christ is Risen!
Christ is Risen Indeed!
This is the day we celebrate the expansive and extravagant love of God through Jesus. Come hear the story of why all this matters, how love always wins, and how you can be a part of God’s revolution of love.
Our Maundy Thursday service is at 7:30 PM in the Meetinghouse.
We have two services on Easter Sunday.
Our 8:00 “Sunrise” service is outdoors in the Memorial Garden next to our parking lot. Bring your own chair and join us for a simple service welcoming the resurrection.
Our 10:00 service is in the Meetinghouse and will feature special music and a message of hope.
We are excited to see you!
Spaces that are accessible for people with limited mobility issues are located to the left of the Meetinghouse and outside the Parish House. A ramp makes the Meetinghouse accessible to people with wheelchairs. Others are invited to park across Route 172 (South Britain Road) in the church parking lot. Please use caution when crossing the street!
What makes you comfortable and ready to worship God? You will find some folks in suits and ties on a Sunday, some in jeans, and kids in Sunday dresses or soccer uniforms. Come as you are, or as you would like to be!
We love and welcome kids of all ages! Really. And we don’t mind all the giggles and squiggles they make. “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord,” the Psalms say and there is nothing more joyful than the sound of kids learning about Jesus. We’re so glad you’re here.
We believe that church is a place where all generations come together, so we have plenty of opportunities for people of all ages to worship, work, and have fun together.
Our meetinghouse was built in 1825 and has no running water (we do have heat in the winter and air conditioning in the Summer). Accessible restrooms are in the Parish House to the left as you enter the hall and downstairs on the lower level.
